How TTTS came into being...
Technical Training Teaching Security. Tanicath Training Academy came into existence after observing that many, if not most of the people I had worked with in the last 15+ years, could not meter out cables if they had forgotten to mark them, or the marking had come off while pulling them. This was also the case when arriving at a site where there was already an old existing installation and fault finding was needed.
Originally, I had decided to design, develop and write a Training Manual for those same people, with a 5 day full time seminar in mind. The training would be to help people ALREADY IN THE SECURITY LINES gain knowledge as well as experience, and get PROMOTION OR OVERTIME FASTER.
One day busy asking people if they would be interested in attending such a training seminar, someone looking for work heard about it and approached me asking if there was beginners training as well, or entry level. So it evolved into a more detailed training manual to HELP UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE STAND OR HAVE A BEETER CHANCE AT FINDING A JOB OR EMPLOYMENT as well as furthering self development for those with some experience already
A small business owner similar to myself asked me if I would be willing to broaden the training if he sent BOTH his NEW EMPLOYEES and also CURRENT OR EXISTING staff to me. So it now became more involved to cover a much wider range of needs.
After someone trying to promote my training for extra income as a part time commission only venture, had been advertising on their Facebook account, someone asked if it was AVAILABLE ONLINE as they lived in Cape Town. With time slots being the major problem here, we can however arrange ONLINE TRAINING based on SPECIFIC INDIVIDUAL NEEDS.
Then came the 1 day idea. There are many Townhouse Complexes or Country Estates that employ a Guarding Company full time and have on site 24 hour guards, and even a Guardroom or control room monitoring CCTV cameras and electric fencing and access control etc. Since the Electric Fencing is more often than not in a terrible state we now offer the ONE DAY BASIC TRAINING which helps these Guards to maintain the electric fence and keep it in a better condition. This beniffits both the complex as well as furthering the Guard's education and work experience opening other doors like becoming a technician.
PLEASE NOTE that ALL PEOPLE ATTENTING IN PERSON OR ONLINE, must complete and have an AFFIDAVID FROM SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE completed, in DUPLICATE, one copy for them to keep, and one copy for us to keep on record, stating that they will not under any circumstances whatsoever, do new installations, repairs, fault finding, additions, upgrades, maintenance or start their own electric fencing business in any form at all, unless working for an INSTALLER OR COMPANY FULLY CERTIFIED, REGISTERED AND ACCREDITED with Certificate of Compliance (COC) from Department Employment and Labour, with a EFSI Registration Number.

Tanicath Training Academy strives to give close personal attention to every person attending our Training Seminars, with a maximum of 10 people for the 1 day basic training for Guards / Guarding and a maximum of only 6 people for the much more detailed and intensive 4 day Using Meter to Fault Find Cables & Electric Fencing Basics, which also touches on other Security lines or Divisions such as Intercom Systems, Alarm Systems, CCTV, Access Control and Gate Motors. We even briefly look at Sales & Marketing, Social Media, and the Security Industry itself to try help everyone have a BETTER CHANCE AT FINDING WORK AS WELL AS PROMOTIONS OR EVEN TO START UP THEIR OWN BUSINESS long term.
